Pure. Unfiltered. Just the way the bees made it.
Bear Ash Honey
Bear Ash Farm didn’t start with honey.
It started with the bees.
They arrived like little messengers, reminding us of what matters: balance, beauty, and the quiet urgency of protecting what’s still wild. Our work here — from planting wildflowers to building habitat to fencing in fruit trees — all began with a simple mission:
Protect the pollinators. The honey is just a sweet side effect.
The Bees Came First
Bees are in trouble, and not just honey bees
Habitat loss, pesticide exposure, disease, and climate disruption have taken a massive toll on pollinator populations. Wild bees, in particular, are disappearing at alarming rates, and with them go the plants, fruits, and ecosystems that depend on their work.
At Bear Ash Farm, we’ve made our land their sanctuary — a patchwork of wildflower fields, orchard blossoms, natural nesting spaces, and clean water. Every decision we make is shaped by the question: “Will this help the bees?”
Our bees live beside a cedar shed, midway up the highest hill on the farm, where the sun hits early and stays all day. It’s one of the warmest, most open spots on the land — chosen with the bees’ needs in mind.
We keep our hives in one place year-round, surrounded by wildflowers, orchard trees, and native plants that bloom from early spring through fall. This stable setting gives our colonies access to consistent forage and a healthy, low-stress environment.
While larger beekeeping operations often need to move hives to follow crop cycles or maximize production, we take a slower approach. Our priority is supporting strong, resilient bees in a habitat that’s been intentionally designed for them. The honey we harvest is truly extra — what the bees don’t need, we gently take.
The Apiary
The honey itself is raw, unfiltered, and never pasteurized.
It varies with the seasons — sometimes dark and bold, sometimes light and floral — depending on what’s blooming. We extract it in small batches, strain it gently, and bottle it by hand.
It’s not blended, heated, or imported. It’s not mixed with syrup or filtered through ultra-fine screens. It’s just... honey. From this land. From these bees.
